Burnt Sugar Bowl

At first glance, this one feels like a simple warm brown bowl, but it gets much more interesting the closer you bring it. The glaze moves through caramel, deep chocolate brown and really subtle olive toned breaks, with tiny dark speckles appearing almost randomly across the surface. I love the slightly angular shape because it makes even something as simple as a bowl feel a little more sculptural in your hands. I imagine this filled with ice cream, nuts, crisps or whatever little snack you are currently obsessed with. It is one of those subtle pieces that does not ask for too much attention, but still manages to stand out the more time you spend with it.
